Que SeRa SeRa

When I was just
a little girl
I asked my mommie
What will I be?

When I was just
a little girl
Will I be pretty?
Will I be rich?

When I was just
a little girl
She said
You will be
Lonely!

When I was just
a little girl
She said
You will be
Sad!

When I was just
a little girl
She said
You will be
Poor!

When I was just
a little girl
She said
You will be
All of these things!

When I was just
a little girl
She said
You will be
Happy!
Rich!
and Popular!

When I was just
a little girl
She said
You will be
and experience

Magpie Tales ~

Tess over at The Mag, has again offered to us a intriguing image to use for our muse.

The image offered is...

I played but Blogger wouldn't show my picture right!   Sigh!
Hope you get the drift!

Just a Dream

I know who she is
She comes ever night.
Ever so quietly;
touching my heart.

I know who she is,
She comes every night.
Quietly creeping,
to my side...what a fright!

I know who she is,
She comes every night.
Telling me secrets
to get through the night.

I know who she is,
She comes every night.
Leaving behind,
her ethereal light!

I know who she is,
She comes every night.
you know her too;
it's Dawn's early light.

Have a blessed and magical day!
Hugging you

Magpie Tales ~ A Journey!

Tess from The Mag, provided the following image....

I couldn't resist...been awhile, but I had to play yet again....

Sunset Cruise

We set sail in the morning,
to follow the sun.
Sailing away,
Sailing the day away!

We set sail in the morning,
compass in hand.
Sailing all day,
Sailing for pay!

We set sail in the morning,
for pleasure; for fun.
Sailing along,
Sailing in song!

We set sail in the morning,
watching the clouds,
totally losing our way,
what can I say?

We are totally sailing
now the next day.
Where the hell is the sun?
What happened to the fun!

Sailing away,
not enjoying the sun.
Looking at each other,
Wondering if food!

Sailing away,
all by myself.
Following the sun!
Following the sun!!

What can I say....but have a nice day!

Hugging you,

SueAnn

Magpie Tales ~ Vanishing Dreams!

Tess posted such an intriguing image this week; I just couldn't resist!!!  Visit The Mag and see the other wondrous works of prose and poetry!!

Here is the image she posted.....

Here is what this image inspired in me.....

Vanishing Dreams

Home
The center of your heart;
Your core of being
Love;
Laugh
Be!

Torn
Ripped from her heart!
Suffocating
"Property of the Bank!"
Lost!
Clothes in a bag!

Possessions vanished
Money gone;
Wandering freeways
Hungry
Losing all sense of belonging!
 And The
Car just floated away!!

Have a centered and completed day!

Magpie Tales ~ The Rape!

The image offered this week by Tess over at The Mag is awesome.  Quite a statement is made.  The original image is....

Supermoon 2013, Julio Cortez, AP

Powerful, yes?  This is my take on it...

The Ravishment of the Lady

The skies were so blue
not a cloud could be seen
a blur in the horizon
BAROOM!

The skies were so blue
not a cloud could be seen
smoke rising
A shape in the distance
BAM!

The skies were so blue
not a cloud could  be seen
Black Smoke
A scream!
Sides split open!

The skies were so blue
not a cloud could be seen
Silence
Smoke
Fire erupts!
WHOOSH!

The skies turned black
not a cloud could be seen
Bricks tumble
Smoke all around
SCREAMS
ROAR!

The skies are gray
ROAR
The sound is deafening
 Smoke clogs the lungs
Debris is raining from the skies
RUMBLE!

The skies
The sounds
The smells
The smoke
 REMEMBER!

Have a thoughtful and purposeful day!

Magpie Tales ~ Shoes holding Back the Future!

Wonderful image provided by Tess, at The Mag this past weekend.  I could have gone in so many directions.  So many choices; so little time.  Ha!

Here is the image provided....

image by Musin Yohan

Isn't gorgeous?  I mean...so "old world"....so traditional.  But I couldn't leave it alone.  I kept pushing it...going in another direction...here is my take...

Shoes holding Back the Future

She wandered the fields,
feet shod with her past;
her head in the future...
which was unfamiliar to her;
wondering.

She wandered the fields,
shouldering a heavy load;
weighing her down;
imprisoning her life....
in the future.

She wandered the fields,
steps unsteady;
seeing with her eyes;
stones with windows....
glistening in the sun.

She wandered the fields,
shadowing her vision;
clouding her mind;
ideas so foreign...
with sweat on her brow.

She wandered the fields,
while food for the village;
sat around her shoulders;
shaking the visions,
out of her mind.

She wandered no more;
clear of the future
confident in her past
striding with purpose.....
hearing those familiar voices;
she smiled!

Have a familiar, yet adventurous day!

Magpie Tales ~ And So It Was!!!!

This week, Tess over at The Mag, has given us a very interesting photo which was in the Look magazine.  Here is the image....

Stanley Kubrick for Look Magazine, 1949

Here is my version of this photo...

1949

So it Seems

And so it was
in 1949
Smoke-filled rooms
Boys and girls;
Men and women
Partaking!

And so it was
in 1949
Beautifully rendered
Sex appeal on steroids
A benefit to all
Partaking!

And so it was
in 1949
Stars do it
Ads sell it
Movies portray it
Partaking!

And so it was
in 1949
The year of my birth
I believed
no harm to man or beast
Partaking!

And so it was
And so it was
in 1949
The year of my birth!
Partaking!

It was a different time for sure...!

Have a creative and imaginative day!

Magpie Tales ~ Heart Shadow

This painting is from Marc Chagall and is going to be quite a challenge today.  Visit The Mag and see what others have done in word and phrase with this painting.  Fun...

Here is the painting..

The Promenade, 1918, by Marc Chagall

This is what I did with the image....fun image for sure...

Heart Shadow

He could feel her presence,
even today!
Deep in his heart
shadowed by her love.

He could feel her presence,
all around their home.
Seems so strange;
she is not walking by!

He could feel her presence,
must be an echo,
traveling through time
surrounding his mind,

He could feel her presence,
trailing behind him.
She hadn't left;
He knew she remained.

He could feel her presence,
touching him.
Even though one year had passed,
her love remained.

 He could feel her presence
he could hear her voice
he could smell her scent
Sigh!
He ached for her!

Magpie Tales ~ Could she....?

Another adventure over at The Mag...this week is wonderfully challenging.  The image that Tess shared with us is...

See??  Challenging, right?  My take on this image is...

She Thought

If she wore that dress,
and those shoes...
If she scented herself liberally,
with that scent....
his head would turn!

If she wore that dress,
and those shoes....
If she wore her hair curly,
with just the right color....
his thoughts would swirl!

If she wore that dress,
and those shoes.....
If she smiled that special way,
with both dimples showing....
his eyes would sparkle!

If she wore that dress,
and those shoes....
If she whispered his name,
with just the right voice....
his mind would think only of her!

If she wore that dress,
and those shoes....
If she ....
Could she  ....
Would she  ...
Make any difference  ...
Change his mind  ....
Win his heart  .....
Waste her time  .....

If she wore that dress,
and those shoes.....

Have an imaginative and creative day!

Magpie Tales ~ Sun shines....birds sing!

An interesting image being offered this week over at The Mag by Tess.  It is an image from Morris Graves.  Here is the image...

Waking, Walking, Singing, in the Next Dimension? 1979 by Morris Graves

Here is my take on it....

As you see, I had blast!!!  Ha!!

The Sun Shines

Sun shines,
birds sing;
she watches
wondering still.

Sun shines,
birds sing,
she hopes
what if he will?

Sun shines,
birds sing,
water flows
flowers grow!

Sun shines,
birds sing,
hearts break
he shut the door.

Sun shines,
birds sing,
hidden away
love poured!

Sun shines,
birds sing,
razors sharp
blood on the floor!

Sun shines,
birds sing,
no one cries
shut the door!

Have a creative and imaginative day!

Magpie Tales ~ Shadows!

Another tale is woven as I view the newest image provided by Tess at The Mag today!  Here is the image...

Ponytail by Last Exit

Here is my take on this wonderful black and white image...

Shadows

Shadows Play

Shadows play;  unsettling her mind
chasing her dreams
haunting the night as she sleeps.
Shadows dark and sweet!

Shadows play; unsettling  her mind
seeking her days
dancing on sidewalks
tripping her feet as she walked!

Shadows play; unsettling her mind
running a line
making music in her head
ruling her
causing a rhythm of it's own!

Shadows play; unsettling her mind
fearing discovery of her act
hiding the guilt
slaughtering him has it's day!

Shadows play; unsettling her mind
death was easy
coming so quick
relishing the blood as it ran!

Have a bountiful and glorious day!

Magpie Tales ~ Blowing in the Wind!!!

What a beautiful art piece for our inspiration...given to us from Tess over at The Mag 169!  Here is the wonderful painting...

Lighthouse Dandelions by Jamie Wyeth

Of course I had to play with it...sorry Mr. Wyeth...just so much to work with here.  Beautiful painting!
Here is my take on it...

Blowing in  the Wind

She sat in the window
sensing the change
 blowing in the wind
enfolding her life.

She sat in the window
watching the dandelions
releasing their seed
flowing o'er the field.

She sat in the window
knowing her security
was yet again,
leaving her

She sat in the window
listening to whispers
deafening
filling her mind

She sat in the window
shivering at the memory
of him leaving her side
for the last time.

She sat in the wimdow
alone yet again
watching the dandelions
floating in the wind.

She sat in the window
hard.........cold
sat there till the drug took hold
pitch-black.

A note sat on the desk by the door.....folded,  "I have been here before.  The noise is just too much.  There  is nothing to forgive...just leaving."

Make sure and visit The Mag!  Many talented writers sharing their visions.

Magpie Tales! ~ For Just a Little While!!!

Another wonderful prompt is being offered by Tess at The Mag.  Make sure and stop over and see the other talented answers to this challenge.

Here is the painting....

Spring, 1935 by Kuzma Petrov-Vodin

Here is my take on this painting...

This is the best!

Let us rest here,
for just a little while.
It's a beautiful day!
We just need a little time!
But no time to sleep!
Let us rest here;
as we consider the plan.
She continued to sigh.
I'm just feeling so weary!
 Let us join with the sky!
Let us rest here;
It is the best way!
He took her by the hand.
We shall find that peace!
So tired of this life!
Let us rest here;
and they held each other close.
Time to leave this ledge!
We will enter forever!
 One..two..and three....
And they stood just over here.
Where they leapt from the ledge.
Holding on to each other.
 Meeting their end.

Magpie Tales ~ Now You See Me!!

Time to paint with words!  Visit The Mag and join in the fun.  The painting this week is from one of my favorite artist, Degas!  Here is the pic...

Woman With a Towel, 1898, Edgar Degas

Here  is what I crafted from the painting...

Now you see me!

She stood in the window
moving slowly;
caressing each breast,
enjoying!

She stood in the window
open to the world;
touching each part,
exposing!

She stood in the window
turning slowly;
 lowering the towel,
smiling!

She stood in the window
relishing each touch;
sensing the looks,
pulse rising!

She stood in the window
dropping the towel;
turning forward,
and.....
waving!

Magpie Tales ~ The Portal!

Another adventure into wordsmithing over at The Mag!  What a fun  prompt!

Between Heaven and Hell, 1989 by Jacek Yerka

My take on this rich painting!

The Portal

She roams the night
Senses on fire...
tuned to the tides.
On the edge of sanity.

She roams the night
Shades inky black....
footfalls are silent.
Keen eyes alerted.

She roams the night
Holding the keys....
rattling nerves.
Shackling dreams.

She roams the night
Keen eyes wary....
watching the heavens.
Awaiting any movement.

She roams the night
Silently guarding....
challenging the light.
Fearing no man.

She roams the night
Spying her prey....
what can we say?
She is guarding the night!
